OUR STORY
We are a riding stable at the Hidden Hills Arena in Kearney, Neb., specializing in beginner and intermediate riding lessons starting at age three for children and adults of all ages. We offer western and english lessons as well as low level jumping lessons. We even help riders work through any fear factors they may have. We welcome all levels of experience from beginner to expert.
We provide well-trained horses and ponies with all the required equipment. Students may haul in their horse(s) as well. Apart from riding lessons, we also offer horse training, pony birthday parties, trail rides, day camps, Girl/Boy Scout badges, team building classes, and horses for photo ops.
I'm Christine Wilson, the proud owner and head instructor of Christine’s Horseback Riding – I started riding at the age of eight in Bamberg, Germany, and took in all that I could from books about horses. By age 11, I was working at the stable in exchange for lessons.
I moved to the United States with my first husband, a U.S. Soldier, to Fort. Riley, Kan., a former Calvary post. The post had old stables and pastures for rent, which quickly lead to the purchase of my retired thoroughbred racehorse, Ted. I bought Zip not too long after for my youngest daughter, Michelle - I rode when I was pregnant with her. I don’t think she ever stood a chance. With two horses and a dream, I started Christine’s Horseback Riding.
Now living in Kearney, Neb., with my second husband, I have established my arena with eight horses and three ponies. I have 40 years of riding and teaching experience and am a certified 4-H judge. I am also a certified riding instructor with the Girl Scouts of Nebraska in all horsemanship badge programs, CPR, First Aid, and awarded the Friends and Ambassador Award from the Nebraska Horse Trail Committee and Nebraska Horse Council.
